Meditation: Tara of the Acacia Forest: Invoking Wise Compassion to Protect the World

Hosted by Tibet House US
Wednesday, June 18
6:00-6:40pm ET

Amongst the different forms of Tara, the Tara of Acacia Forest (Khadiravaṇītārā) has a particularly strong connection to the natural world. Believed to have originated in a vision Buddhist sage Nāgārjuna experienced while meditating in a forest, this aspect of Green Tara represents skillful courageous action, protection, and positive interdependence that is able to cut through all that is dangerous.

In this 30-minute community meditation led by Michael Lobsang Tenpa, we will focus on the form, mantra, and qualities of Tara of the Acacia Forest, supercharging our mind with powerful aspirations for the well-being of all who live and working to uncover our own qualities of wisdom and compassion. This sense of renewal will hopefully offer us both a moment of respite and a sense of courage in dealing with the challenges that are currently so amply present in our world.
